How it works

Every booking link and widget here goes to GetYourGuide, which sells the listings. If you book after arriving from this site, GetYourGuide pays a percentage of what you paid. The price you see in the widget is the price on the platform: nothing is added for arriving through this door, and no code, account or click of mine changes it.

How the plain ticket listing pays

The platform’s plain ticket listing costs the same as the operator’s own counter, about fifteen euros. If you buy it through a link here, I am paid a percentage out of the platform’s margin, never added to your price.

That listing rates 3.9 while every written review of it is five stars, and its review page sets out the reviews, including those that raise the castle closure, and where a guide adds to the visit.

What is not paid for

Nothing on this site is a paid placement, a sponsored review or an advertisement. No operator has seen a page before it was published, no operator has been offered the chance, and no company is named anywhere. The order listings appear in is the order the catalogue is grouped in — what gets you inside, and what does not. The pages about the building, the Templars and Freemasonry earn nothing at all and are most of the site.

Reviews are quoted verbatim from the platform, including the four-star ones and the complaint about a castle being shut. If you spot a quotation that needs correcting, tell me and I will fix it that day.
